One of the all-time classic golf courses on the Portuguese coast, Penha Longa Golf Club opened in 1991 and has hosted the European Tour’s Portuguese Open and other tour events in its history.
Penha Longa Golf Club is regularly included in the top 30 course in Europe and has a real parkland feel with many stunning views from its tees and green. Designed by Robert Trent Jones with his usual large bunkers creating an intimidating sight from many of the tees, the course has a more a natural design than many of Jones’ later courses – following the landscape and making fantastic use of natural hazards and obstacles throughout the round.
