The South Course at Quinta do Lago, host of many Portuguese Open Championships, has something special to offer all golfers.
With a mix of challenging holes and birdie opportunities – the broad fairways, mature pine trees and large greens of the South Course present a challenging and enjoyable challenge for all.
Designed in 1974 by William Mitchell – who introduced American-standard greens, tees and bunkers to the Algarve – the course is laid out through the Ria Formosa Natural Park and is a favourite among European tour players with the 6,500-metre par 72 course set among umbrella pines, peaceful lakes and wild flowers.
